The Fields are now open for informal play only. The playground and fitness equipment area are also now open. Events DC and CRYSP DC are committed to patron, staff and community safety. We thank you for being a partner in the successful and safe reopening of The Fields.

 

Here’s what you need to know:

  • The Fields are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Please limit playtime to 60 minutes, so others may enjoy.
  • Playing sections are marked on the fields for groups of up to 10 people. No reservations are required or allowed at this time.
  • No summer permits are being issued, except for summer camps; no organized sports or training is permitted.
  • The playground and fitness equipment areas are open, with new restrictions.
  • Please sanitize your hands and equipment when you enter and leave the fields.

APPLY FOR A FALL PERMIT

Here’s what you need to you need to know about the permit window and our upcoming info session:

Fall permit application window. The window will be open from June 26 – July 10, 2020, to accept requests for the fall season, which will run from Sept. 6  – Nov. 28, 2020. You may submit your permit application at RFKfields.com.

Information Session, Tuesday, June 30. All permit applicants — especially for season permits — must attend an online information session that will be held over Zoom on Tuesday, June 30 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. We will walk participants through the application process and answer questions about that process, field allocation, COVID-19 issues, and field operations once we have reopened. Fall permit process modification. Please see modifications to the permit process for the fall season only, below. Also please review the clarifications to the Amateur Sports Policy before you apply.

COVID-19 permit restrictions.  All DC guidelines apply. At this time we are only permitting practices and training, no games or scrimmages. Permits are limited to 50 participants on a field, divided into groups of 10. Ten-foot social distancing guidelines must be observed.

Hold on all summer requests. Only Summer Camp permit requests for summer season dates/times are being accepted at this time. We will announce any changes when information becomes available.

USING THE FIELDS DURING THE REOPENING PERIOD

FIELD RULES

No spectators in the stands or the sidelines

No contact sports and no organized training/games

HOW IT WORKS

No reservations – a field monitor will direct you to an open space to play or ask you to wait for one.

Please limit play to 60 minutes – so others may enjoy

Patrons assume their own risk when using the playground and fitness equipment

ADDITIONAL RULES

● All children under the age of 18 must have adult supervision.
● Patrons must clean up after themselves before leaving.
● Dogs are prohibited in the playground and adjacent areas.
● Confetti, glitter, rice, birdseed, and spray “silly string” are prohibited.
● Alcoholic beverages, smoking, and drug use are prohibited.
● Amplified music, barbecuing and open fires are prohibited.

Report any concerns to uniformed field staff, who will facilitate the use of the playground and playground shade structure.
